Cedar Shingles Project.
We thought we’d share a stable building project with you step-by-step from start to finish, so you can see how the stable of your dreams comes together. This stable block is located in Lichfield, Staffordshire.
The groundworks are very a very important factor to prolong the life of any timber building. A level and square brick course not only prevents possible water damage but ensures a firm base for our building to sit on. We will provide sizing advice if needed.
We make up the stable walls and apexes offsite to minimise build time on site, so your dream stables soon begin to take shape!
Tongue and groove roof lining and shiplap overhang lining are all part of our specifications and work is undertaken by skilled craftsmen. Kickboards inside the stables not only look the part but are robust enough for naughty kicking hooves!
The roof starts to take shape and the doors go on. You can choose all sorts of bespoke extras such as chew strip door surrounds and talk grilles – whatever it takes to keep your horses safe and happy. The buildings are looking more like stables now…
Black waterproof membrane will prolong roof “solidity” by far.
This build had the added luxury of cedar shingles on the roof. A lengthy job for skilled craftsmen but we think they provide a stunning finishing touch.
